Colombo Ammonia NH3 Test - Suitable For Testing Tropical, Coldwater & Marine Aquariums And Ponds!!
Approx 40 Tests
Why Test?
Ammonia is excreted by fish directly into the water, and is also released from the breakdown of solid waste and uneaten food. Ammonia is highly toxic to fish, but is usually removed from the water by the bacteria which live inside the filter. The only way to know what the ammonia level is, is by testing the water with an Ammonia test kit. Regular testing, especially in new ponds, will prevent damage caused by ammonia poisoning.
Ammonia (NH3) is very harmful and can cause immediate mortality and diseases. High levels of ammonia can occur in new aquaria, with filter problems and when maintaining high stock levels. When the ammonia level exceed 0,15 mg/ litre, immediately change 50% of the water, after this change 25% of the water daily until the ammonia level is under 0,15 mg/ litre. Add Zeolite to your filter, this absorbs ammonia direct. Immediately discontinue feeding.
It is worth remembering that ammonia becomes more toxic at higher pH levels.
